Where Ever

by Kristin Smith   May 28, 2006

I stare at you,
and you see me
I can hear your thoughts,
thinking of what could be
you just want to go,
go far away
and find a way for us
to run and escape...

you take my hand and lead me,
where exactly is unclear
but I see the look in your eyes
telling me not to fear
your fingers gently clasp mine and
I follow you without thinking
I hold you just a little tighter and realize
trusting you has become like breathing

we walk a little bit farther
and you wrap your arms around me
I lean my head on your shoulder
then kiss you soft and sweetly
I wonder where we're going
and think of where I'd like to be
my mind thinks sweet romantic thoughts
going over the possibilities
I think of love, I think of fun, I think of being alone
I think of all the perfect places
and hope it's to one of them we go

maybe under a blanket of stars
with the moonlight pouring down,
maybe just a special place
where we could go and not be found.
maybe in the dark
where I’d whisper sweet thoughts in your ear
maybe in the warm sunlight
where you’d pull my body near...

then you take me in your arms
and I can feel it in my heart
the only place I really want to be
is simply where ever you are.
