In This Night...

Here i lay in this velvet night
looking up at the diamond sky
nestled in the safest place
for in your arms am i.

i watch as each star twinkles
seemingly fixed in place
i wonder at their beauty
that could never match your face.

time just seems to have stopped for us
the night is ours alone
the sky is ours to gaze upon
the moon will guide us home

and i know in my heart there is no where else
i could ever feel so free
and though our love must remain a secret
