Never Going Home

by Shade   May 28, 2006

When people die, the loss cuts us deep,
Not only do we lose a friend or family member,
But the feeling of security,
And someone to always rely on.

Until we lose this feeling,
We never truly appreciate it.
Too long do we take it for granted,
Turning a blind eye to the truth..

It wont always be there.

But what if no-one had died.
What if only the feeling itself was killed off.

How do we accept the fact,
That no longer can we turn to someone,
In a way that we always have.

We must look at these people in their eyes...
We must hold them in our arms...
Yet banish them from our hearts.

How can we deal with the truth,
Of having this feeling destroyed.

When this day comes,
Will we be able to deal with our fears...

Or will we crumble,
Forever hating ourselves for being so blind.

When this day comes,
The door to this person closes forever,
And the truth will hit us hard.

We Can Never Go Home.
