You asked me to trust you,
I thought you would always be true.
You told me to believe,
I thought that you would never leave.
You made me think we would be together forever,
No matter what the endeavor.
In short, you lied.
Now I am left with wounded pride.
What happened to the girl who was unbreakable?
The girl whose confidence was unmistakable?
She was never seen without a smile,
And always went the extra mile.
I do not know her anymore.
I will never go back to the way I was before.
I will no longer be able to pretend,
Will I come out stronger in the end?
Will my heart ever mend?
I do not want to see you anymore,
For I need time for my heart to restore.
O quickly come the healing!
Make my heart cold and unfeeling.
Save me from this torment.
