The Things You Never Knew

by Cassie   May 29, 2006

I watched you every day,
watched how you moved,
how you acted,
how you lived.
i watched,
but you never knew.

i listened to you every time you spoke.
i listened to your thoughts
your ideas,
the sound of your voice
i listened,
but you never knew.

i spoke to you my every secret.
i told you everything i was,
what i knew,
what i felt,
i spoke,
but you never knew.

i prayed that you would notice me,
i prayed that one day you would see me
as beautiful,
as perfect.
i prayed,
but you never knew.

i reached out to you when i was hurting.
i reached out for guidance,
for consolation,
for love.
i reached out,
but you never knew.

i called your name when i was in trouble.
i called for your strength,
your power,
your protection.
i called,
but you never knew.

and when the darkness closed in,
when all was quickly fading from sight,
when i knew the end was near,

i swore myself to you for ever and for always.
i swore to give you everything i was,
and everything i would be,
and everything i could have been.
i swore,
but you never knew.

i killed myself for the love of you,
i killed myself because it was better that way,
because you\'d be happier without me,
because my heart was broken beyond repair.
i killed myself,
but you never knew.

you never, never knew
