Art and Romance

by Jesse   May 29, 2006

The artist paints a man,
A man.
Of caring,
Of beauty.
The painting is of a man.
A man
dancing and looking deep;
Deep into the eyes of,
A beautiful woman.

The man and woman are dressed,
Dressed in the clothes of the Renaissance.
Where did chivalry and romance go?

The artist leaves.
The paint does not dry,
The paint separates from
The canvas.
The murky colors mixed on the floor
Rise,
Rise to be mortal.

Music floats eerily of the air,
Beautiful music.
Music of violins and angelic tunes.
The two dance.
The man
and
The woman.

The man kisses,
Kisses the woman's hand.
The man offers,
Offers the woman a rose.
The rose a symbol,
A symbol of eternal passion.

The woman smiles.
The woman smells,
Smells the rose.
The roses soft petals
tickle her nose.
The woman giggles.
The woman kisses,
The man on the cheek.

For that moment
Cupid's arrow,
Struck two lovers.
Two lovers stuck,
Stuck in imagination.

The door opens.
The man;
The woman;
Return,
Return to where they came.
To the imagination of chivalry.

The game of
Romantic intrigue.
The seduction of someone.
The Seduction of more than
A sexual nature.
Rather a sensual use of,
Words,
Touches,
and
Love.
