Politicans Start Em, Soldiers Fight Em (a Memorial Day poem)

by Nate   May 29, 2006

It is a saying that is true,
old men start wars, young men fight em, that is true,
that is true.
Now do not get me wrong when I say,
if old men fought wars, then peace would be
a few days away.
Some wars have to be fought for our freedoms sake,
the Revolutionary War, Civil War, and WWs one and two
are a few I will take.
But no matter what war, our soldiers still die,
and we should remember them one and all
that is no lie.
Vietnam, Iraq and a few in between,
are wars where young men die and
that was just not keen..
But pray for ALL those American soldiers who give their lives,
also please remember their
children and their wives.
Pray also for the ones who made it through,
because their lives were changed, of that
I can promise you.
Please, remember this and always reflect,
NEVER, EVER, give an American soldier
any disrespect.

Hmm, this is a really good poem Nate. I don't know much about the wars the US have had, but most wars pre-dating World War II seem unjust. Good poem my friend.
