So Many Fireflies

by RainbowSlider   May 30, 2006

I was like a moth attracted to flame.
I was willing to play any body's game.
I was tempted by fortune and fame.
I was like the horse with no name.

I became a writer of things.
I became a collector of rings.
I became a watcher of kings.
I became a student of pings.

I have always like joy.
I have always been a boy.
I have always loved a story.
I have always liked Helen of Troy.

I have been afraid of the dark.
I have been bad at parallel park.
I have been slow to bark.
I have been off my mark.

I see so many lies.
I see so many alibis.
I see so many tries.
I see so many fireflies.
