Through a Man's Heart

by Stumbling Shaman   May 30, 2006

Your bloodflecked lips, They kiss my sky again
I took you back inside, Thought your games were over
I drove you wild, Contentment was not enough
I was in denial, You betrayed me all the way

I tore up my soul, Just to be near you
I gave too freely, You kept on stealing
I tried to temper, Too many of your desires
I caught you out again, You just keep on lying

No matter how close we were, You never seemed to see me
Just another game to play, But you wouldn't leave me
Can't bear to tie you down
Can't stand to let you go
You can keep your karma, I'll keep on driving
You have your ocean, I'll still be diving

You're at the centre, Of all the fun and shame
You came back to me, So I could take the blame
Next time around, It'll be me who's lying
Next time you feel me, It won't be for you

I cannot stand this, To think I'm rising
With this crescendo, Of other people's pain
Nothing for it, But to be dumped with you
Now you just walk away, I'm left here with your stain

Sinking ever deeper, Since I refuse to fly with you
I'm too contented, To chase you down
You were my angel, I won't deny it
Life is better now, Your feathers caress the ground

Your tender lips, They paint my horizon
I take you back inside, But I'm still wary
I drive you wild, My silence is too much
Both in denial, You give your heart to me
