Not Coming Home

by Dani   May 30, 2006

Don't mind if I'm not home when you arrive.
Midnight will roll around
and you'll stand by the windows
counting down the time it takes for me to come home.
Mother, don't wait up.
I'm only taking a moment to reconstruct my thoughts.
I'm wandering these streets aimlessly,
running away from everything, if only for a little while.
I'll be safe, I've been safe.
Any pain I have felt is pain I have put among myself,
and I am quite content with feeling nothing tonight.
Drop your worries.
I have.
I finally have.
