Photographs

Deceiving pictures on my wall
Reminders that I can't stand tall
I observe them with my tears aside
In that picture perfect happy life

Each captures essence of an age
Yet painted images is what they made
Of people beseeching in it's flash
They're all too bright; the colors clash

I understand the lies it may behold
Through photographs stories unfold
Of days so lost, played out in shame
None of them are holding truth's real name

The smiles here, more laughter there
Easily I'm mislaid, towards them I stare
At the million photographs on my bed
And all these pictures in my head

As the fire burns, I watch it glow
Gathering photographs from years ago
Each one falls in through dying lies
I laugh at their conked out disguise

My wall gives an empty shade of white
With no photographs to hurt my sight
No picture perfect happy life
No happiness into roads I stride
Yet after all this, my heart still cries:
Memories keep killing me inside

    I love it. It's the perfect description of photographs. You described beautifully everything about them and what they mean to you. The rhyming was good, and the words were original.
