The Deer

by Jo Hornsey   May 30, 2006

I see the Deer,
Here and there,
I scratch it's ear,
And it sheds a tear.

I follow it over there,
Into the sunlit glade,
This time I shed a tear,
And the deer fades.

And now I know,
I know you have gone,
And the reason why I know?
The deer, that stood tall
And beautiful,
That stood so strong
And powerful has gone,
With out saying a word,
not even good-bye
