I should have said goodbye to you then
i shouldn't have acted like you were just a friend
i should have told you how i felt
now i have to deal with what fate dealt
when someone first told me i just didn't believe
i thought why would someone do that to me
stop playing with me it's not funny
stop saying it's OK honey
he can't be gone it's all a joke
he's gonna walk in and say surprise

just yesterday he said every things OK
just one call is all it would have took
then we could talk & he would give me that look
but he got in that car and was on his way
