Next to You

by Amanda   May 30, 2006

I lie here next to you,
wishing you were someone new.

You turn your head toward me.
I wish it was his leg on my knee.

Your breath, even and light,
does little more than deepen my plight.

You whisper in my ear,
I'll love you forever my dear.

All I can do is mumble.
My mind and mouth just stumble.

How can I lie to you?
But what else can i do?

I never knew love could lie.
I turn in bed and sigh.
