I lent out of my window
staring at the night sky above
wonder and awe filled me inside
as my eyes rested on the moon
such a simple yet graceful scene
all my troubles seemed to drift away in the nights breeze
i gazed at the sky
mesmerized by natures beauty
but it did not stay that way for long
the moon disappeared behind a cloud like a curtain being drawn over a window
now only a huge sheet of darkness glared back at me
