Our world around us

by lauren   May 31, 2006

Once stood high and mighty
respected over the universe
now it's getting smaller
waiting for rebirth

the world has been corrupted
by the anguish of poverty
people living on the streets
young getting bashed by elderly

people shooting up
drugs delt on the streets
is this how we'll bring our children up?
is this the kind of people they'll be?

women living out of bags
children sleeping in dark alleys
dealers surround the streets
people crying endlessly.

people getting murdered
lying in cold blood
murderers walk the streets
the crimes come like a flood

this is our 'perfect' world
portioned right here upon this shelf
we blame the people around us but,
there is no one to blame but ourselves!
