The One Who Loves You

Is unmatchable.
Is uncontained.
Is limitless.

~.His courage.~
Is unfailing.
Is ever-present.
Is full.

~.His beauty.~
Is untainted.
Is pure and shining.
Is like no other's.

~.His grace.~
Is sufficient.
Never fails.
Reaches for eternity.

~.His wisdom.~
Is highest in all the world.
Is powerful.
Is not of this world.

~.His love.~
Is unconditional.
Is steadfast.
Is unchanging.

This man laid down His life
for the ones He loved.
They didn't deserve His love,
they spurned Him every day.
But yet He still loved them.

He gave them life
where there should have been only death.
He gave them mercy
where they should have been condemned.
He forgave them
when they hurt Him yet once again.

They were absolute jerks to Him.
They spit on His face.
They kicked Him when He was down.
They rejected the precious gifts
that He offered them.
They condemned Him,
though sinless,
to a horrible death on the cross.
Nailed there by their own sins.

Do you wonder who I'm talking about?
Do you wonder who this perfect man is?
Do you wonder if His murder was caused by you?

YOU were a jerk to Him.
YOU spit on His face.
YOU kicked Him when He was down.
YOU rejected the precious gifts that He offered you.
YOU condemned Him to a horrible death on the cross.

This man who had done nothing wrong
except the crime of loving you for who you were.
This man who gave up everything for you.
This man who was everything you dreamed of and more.
YOU rejected Him.
Because you couldn't see past His disguise.
This man who loved you enough
to die in your place.
YOU rejected Him.
This man.
This Jesus.
