You.

by 10010110   Feb 18, 2004

You.
You were there, in the background, I just never really saw you.
When I found out what you tried to do,
I couldn’t believe they were talking about you.
I went numb for days,
Spoke to you, and was amazed.
You breathed life into me, like making able-bodied from the lame,
And probably saved me from doing the same.
After being so numb, I saw that
You really scared me,
I didn’t know what to do,
I thought for a little about life without you.
Then I went numb again, but this numb,
It was different.
It was cold and hurtful, and made me do something,
Something I hadn’t done in years.
You made me shed not one, but two salty tears.
I never want to cry again, not over you or
Anyone else, not in a million years.
