Forever fairytale

It's funny how things just always have to end.
You�d hope and dream that they would be forever, but alas.
This is the story of me and my best friend.

We were pretty much like sisters; although not alike - you a brunette, me with the red hair.
We were inseparable, they always told us that.

Whatever happened to the letters, to all those late night calls?
Whatever happened to our laughter and secrets?
Whatever happened to us sis? Why did it happen at all?

I think I really did love you..
You were always there for me.
But I knew we wouldn't be the same again,
he came between us, you see.

You changed completely. Not the friend I always knew.
I guess I didn't play my part either;
it's not fair blaming it all on you.

Whatever happened sis? We don't even talk when we're in the same room.
We let go of each other,
I guess we both know, deep down, that it was a stupid thing to do.

I still miss you..and I know you miss me too,
but we're in different directions now, have made different friends,
and we can never be what we said we'll always be.
Best friends forever..we'll grow old together.

I dream about you sometimes..
I can't believe it - we're friends again.
I'm overwhelmed by this great feeling of happiness..
but then the night ends and the dream just fades away.

A million tear I've shed..knowing you'll never be there for me again.
It�s just not fair how he came between us and changed every single god damn thing!

I look back at our memories, and my eyes fill with tears.
I never wanted this to happen to us,
it was one of my own fears.

I'll forever need you to rely on,
but I know I'm grasping onto thin air.
So I dry my tears and accept reality...
I'm happy that I knew you, I'm happy that it happened.
