Holding My Breath

I think about you day and night

And I wonder if you are right

I hold my breath just to be

Trying so hard to get you to see

But you won't open your eyes

So I scream to release the pain inside

I plead with you to give me your heart

But you're breaking mine apart
But for some reason I can't let go

There is something about you I do not know

The way you look at me

And how I pretend not to see

The way you hold my hand

And how I just don't understand

You make me cry and hurt so bad

But you are the one who truly makes me glad

So why does it have to be like this at all

Why can't we just pretend not to fall
