This Time of Day

by PygmyPuff   Jun 2, 2006

Walk the street when no one is out
And see another life.
A different side of a different town,
Still the vassals fife.

Blinking does the street light glow
The moon's half-hearted smile
Illumination hill to valley
Vibrant glares of the windows are exceptional.

The cat's meow brings hope
Of perhaps a surprise to be found
Wandering between the shadows
Knowing it will see me again around.

The stars wink to hide behind the sky
Avoiding the country vibe.
But so different is the street at night
Only mine, to be exchanged for an incomparable bribe.
