Clouded prayer

by Tainted Beauty   Jun 2, 2006

The clouded eyes stare
blankly into the night,
The only visions,
the passing lights,

His thin hair ,
colored with strands of grey,
What a stressful time,
with the family today,

His chair beneath him,
it rocks back and forth,
I guess this is how it will be, forever more,

Too tired to grieve,
he stares out the window,
He accepts his new found position of widow,

She is finally at peace,
at Gods right hand forever,
Deep in his heart,
he knows someday they will be together,

His wife of so long,
gone in an instant,
Hes become isolate from the family,
so worn and distant,

Leaning back in his chair,
he closes his eyes,
He says a final prayer
trying not to cry,

He wishes her good luck,
but not good bye,
Because in his heart, he knows, she didnt really die.
