When i look

When i look into my eyes
there is a lot that i see
i see more than color
i see uncertainty

i see a girl who has had
and unforgiving childhood
that tried to bring her down
but forever she stood

i see a big story
one that is untold of
a life full of abuse
turned to life full of love

i see a girl
who grew up to fast
not because she had to
but because of her past

i see someone who was lost
in this growing world
but the love of two people
helped this little girl

i see someone at times
has tripped over life
but slowly gotten back up
to make things right.

i see a scarred heart
from the times its been tore
ripped from her chest
and tossed on the floor

i see eyes that have dripped
falling tears of rain
from the people she loves
and the ones who bring pain

i see a girl standing
with all of this there
behind those deep brown eyes
once carried someone scared

i see the things
i hope and dream
i see the girl
that i always will be.
