Goodbye

by Megann Lee   Jun 2, 2006

Smiles turn into frowns.
The tears fall freely onto the ground.
Her heart aches, the happiness is no longer there.

"Why did she have to go?" She chokes out after each loud sob.
I smile knowing I'm still here, and with that I softly reply with words so kind.
"It's okay to hurt, and it's okay to cry. I can try, to help you say goodbye."

I see a smile creep across her face, tears rolling down her cheeks.
Her eyes close, their sadness fading into dark.
Her body calmly rocking right to left.

My hands glide along her cheeks brushing falling tears away.
I smile lightly, glancing at her.
The thoughts of her always being here for me, dancing around my head.

As I hold in my own tears and pain.
I see one last tear roll down her cheek and with it I whisper:
"It's okay to hurt, and it's okay to cry. I can try, to help you say goodbye."

Softly I place my pale shaking lips upon her cheek giving her a loving kiss.
Then smile and take me grieving leave.
And with a soft whisper, I am gone, only the kind words being left behind in my absence.

"It's okay to hurt, and it's okay to cry.
I love you, please don't forget me.
Keep me in your thoughts M'darling--Goodbye."

    Wow! This was amazing!!
I loved the line: "It's okay to hurt, and it's okay to cry. I can try, to help you say goodbye."
The fact that you repeated it was really cool coz it emphasized your point really well! 5/5!
    Keep it up.
