Realizing

I tried something today
It didn't work the way
I thought it would.
It wasn't very good.

At first it looked normal
But I wanted it to look more formal.
When I finally gave it a try
A second look made me die.

It was the ultimate fear.
Looking in the mirror
I thought,"who it that?"
"Where am I at?"

I could pull off the look
No matter what it took.
Trying to be who I was before
Made me see, I'm not that person anymore.

It was hard to see
That's truly not me.
But I know why too.
It's because I fell in love with you.
