Crossing the time

by Flying Phoenix   Jun 2, 2006

Silently I waited
Soundlessly I cared
Down by the rippling waters edge
Deep inside myself
Locked up tight without a key
Lay many secrets I could not speak
Times of joy
Days alone
I watched, and waited

Staring across the river
At the fantasy land
As if it did not exist
I could not reach it
And I would never see

Yet I searched it's edge
Far and wild
And I came across a bridge
Crossing the ocean wide
My time had come
I had been patient
Waiting

The trembling bridge held fast as I crossed
To the other side
Where I thought
My dreams were lost
But there they were
Laid out on the grass
And my days of happiness
Had come at last
