What You See

by ThykissofblooD   Jun 2, 2006

Denim jeans and a black t-shirt
It's the same each day
Nails trimmed to short
And faulty dyed hair
Should have been red
(Came out orange)

Whitest of skins
But not with beauty
Too many scars that can't be hidden

Blistered and tattered

Eyes that quiver and look away
Tarnished blue

Hair's too long
In need of a trim
But that would be a loss of a security blanket
What else is there to hide beneath?

Faded reflection
I see me
But just barely
Do you see?

Never leave the house
Too afraid of what lies beyond
Could someone possibly notice I haven't been around?

Do my friends remember my name?
Do they remember who I once was?
I don't

Faded past
Vacant future
Just walls

Hidden within the walls
No one can find me
They can't see me
I can't see me
