Perfect World

Perfect World

I look up gazing aimlessly in the sky
while driving in my hand-me-down car
I tried to talk to God today...
But he put me on hold and cut me off
The streetlight is out and I'm in a hurry
So i sit back and relax in apprehension
The sign that says "stop" has been dented
Someone obviously was not paying attention
Trash litters this traffic-filled street
And in dismay I can't see anything
Beautiful anymore in this world.

But when i look up in that polluted sky
I see a little airplane messenger had wrote
Something so astonishing in those cloudy letters
A stare at it, oblivious to the cars beeping at me
As I look those chosen letters form a word
I read them up-side-down and back wards
the word "PERFECT" is written in the sky.

Perfect? What here can they see as perfect?
Nothing I've seen could be considered perfect
Oh my, my, my it must be a perfect world.

Besides the fact that
I had to face a break up today
But i still love him
Yet my thoughts are on another man
And my grandmother died last weekend
2 days ago my cat got ran over by a car
And my parents are divorced- for good this time
But i only care about making some fine money
And i left a bar drunk with no regrets
This i guess is as good as it gets
And now all i hate is that word
Yea, this is such a perfect world

We all know it,
Everything is beautiful till we look around
And were invincible till we trip and hit the ground
And the world must be perfect and so lovely and free
until we all die from drowning in the killing sea
Oh and tonight I'll travel so far
As i go off the cliff in my broken car
My, my, my its a perfect world.
And all that inspired me was that one word.
But before i left i got to watch the perfect sunset
Oh Yea...so perfect...thats as good as it gets.
