Dead on the doorsteps
Of an old, solemn church
A girl who did no wrong.
Angers target was a bullseye.
She seems curled up and praying
As blood seeps from her gown
Mixing with the night rain
Spilling down on the steps
For when the people see this crimson
They'll see the ugly prison
That they call they're town
She is just an example.
There is more to come.
&& While the murderer runs free
There will never be
Someone as clever as he.
He has taken a great prize--
Life and publicity.
His new claim to fame
Will only fuel him more.
For why be in this society
After he has been denied
The life that he so desired
No father had cradled him
No mother had sang to him
No angel would save him
From the beatings everyday.
What a disappointment
This life has seemed to be
Now that they're noticing
The people that did him wrong
He sees another target
Two seats down from the bar.
Another beautiful women,
Hair of chesnut locks
She's sipping a martini,
Legs crossed, so seductive.
Who could love this man
He imagines her thoughts
Bad teeth, scarred face
He;s a monster.
In reality, he's human
But this anger provided has turned
He is now greater then he wanted.
He can be an angel of death.
He's moving in on her, sits down
She smiles at him, politely
Not in a way he wanted
He only prayed a woman,
So gorgeous as the night
Would flash him a beautiful smile
That wanted him.
He leaned over, she was nervous
And he whispered in her ear
"Come with me home
Or I swear I'll kill you right now."
Her face of shock was pleasure
That was sent right through his spine
But hesistantly she left.
Count her dead, count her dead.
But that man, he took her
When his work was down she was stabbed
Now her body he caressed
He hung over a cemetary stone
The crime of all crimes.
Is fueled.
He did not change to denial-
Denial changed to him.
For he is not himself--
He is what we made him.
So when you find the girl
Hung on a gravestone
Denial took her life.

I just wanted to express one thought. I can't believe it took so many lines.
Wow. That had a great twist to it. And it wasn't what I imagined it would be by reading the title. Really great poem though. I liked it. Keep it up! 5/5
