Friends forever? I'll make it happen

A while back i wrote a poem
about how we'll always stay together
but as far as i can tell
we won't stay friends forever

as the days go by
our conversations diminish
when's it gunna be
when you're finally finished

i'm not sure why
you made this choice
but it sure is sad
not to hear you voice

we used to talk
every day and night
i guess those time are past
long gone, out of sight

now it's hard
to find the words to speak
when we're on the phone
once or twice a week

why is it
that we're in such a fight
we're just tearing out best friend
this isn't right

she shouldn't be divided
between one friend or the other
she's trying to help us
but we're just making her suffer

and what'll happen
between you and me?
i wanna look back
when i'm old and see

three best friends
laughing, joking
and yelling at people
in the street who are smoking

walking in the rain
to the ice cream shop
and eating so much
that our stomachs will pop

spending the night
and tping boys
playing music so loud
just to shut out the noise

then crying together
when we find out bad news
and getting in trouble
for sharing our shoes

talking for hous
about nothing at all
kicking around
an old soccer ball

standing with the manniquins
trying to fit in
writing the longest letters
wondering who'll win

sitting around
listing to stories
being together
just to forget our worries

i don't think our friendship
should ever have to end
so i'll do what it takes
to get it to mend

you are more important
than most people to me
so i'll try hard to keep
our friendship problem free
