Won't Ask

She wont ask about the bruises
She already knows
What happened that cold morning
While the streets were filled with snow
Shes seen it many times before
Though it never seemed right
She knows why the little girl
Is afraid to sleep at night
She reassures the small child
That now she will be safe
She wants the world to see
The mothers wretched mistake
