The Story Of The Hillside

by Navy Blue Heart   Jun 4, 2006

She first met him by moonlight
As she ran away from home
And they crossed the world together,
A pair of loving rolling stones.
They tangoed in Argentina,
Made tender love in France
But she never knew it wouldn't last
Swept away by the romance.
For he left her on a hillside
Under cover of starless night,
Kissed her sleeping pearly lids
Then silently took flight.
She awoke among the dew drops
And some had settled in her hair
Catching the summer sun's caress
Making her twice as fair.
When she realised her abandonment
She never shed a tear
Believing he'd return to her
And the love they'd held so dear.
So she waited on that hillside
But her life began to fade
Trickling from her bit by bit
As she sung a lover's serenade.

We found her among the daisies
A look of hope still on her face.
Her belief in love had brought her death
Yet it was her life's one saving grace.

I loved it, it was quite sad towards the end, but the way the love and romance and feelings were portrayed and captured made it a read worthwhile, keep writing my friend
