I once had a fairy tale life
About two years ago
And so this is the story
Of the joy I used to know.
I once had a fairy tale house
That sat on a tree covered hill
I had the perfect room
Where I sat on the windowsill.
I once had a fairy tale friend
Whom I loved a great deal
We had so much in common
I could hardly believe she was real.
I once had a fairy tale school
With many a fairy tale friend
Where happiness ran rampant
And never seemed to end.
I once had a fairy tale tree
With limbs to lounge upon
Where I could sit and think
About where the time had gone.
I once had a fairy tale boyfriend
Who meant the world to me
And when he proposed
I did readily agree.
I once had a fairy tale life
But I slowly lost it all
And so I lay here now
Crying against a wall.
