To Love You

by Kyleene   Jun 5, 2006

What am I supposed to say?
How can I tell the truth?
Confiding that I'm in love with you?
I ache to say the words
You can call it shyness or being afraid
But I just can't speak them
Can you guess
What it is that I hide?
You need to know
So I can find out if you feel the same way
This I understand,
Perhaps it is true love
Maybe just infatuation
Either way,
I like the feeling
And want to explore it more
If you find out,
If you do listen,
Will you leave me?
Break my sore heart?
Or will you call me baby?
Even kiss me deeply?
There could be consequences
Possibly even rewards
What you do
Is up to you
But you need to know my secret
Please just hear me out
Don't leave yet
Look inside your soul
Can you find the feelings you hold for me?
Are they telling you to turn and run?
Or seek me out and tell me the same?
Please, don't hide from me
Now that I've laid my heart in your hands
Tell me what you feel
Silence is no answer
It just fills hearts with emptiness
Can I tell you?
Give you this truth?
I can
But will you accept it?
Don't mind how red I'll get
The next time you see me
Just let me know
Either ignore me, don't come back
Or hold me close
Tell me not to worry
Because it's okay to love you
