Memories burn my heart
As I think of those days
Before I was torn apart

I remember smiling
I remember laughing

My heart is aching
It wont go away
My hands are shaking
Im not okay

I look through this world
With blurred eyes
At that girl who once sang and twirled

Shes fading away
And so am I
Suddenly my world is gray

I squint past the colorless skies
Searching for the girl
Who was young and wise

I see nothing but my own reflection
I was that girl
Filled with love and affection

Why are the tears coming down so fast
Where has the happy girl gone?
That girl from the past?

As the world becomes clearer I see she will never again appear for the memories she cannot hold on
