_Snake Bit_

by laycee   Feb 19, 2004

He slithers around me,
searching for my pain.
He senses it,
but where to ease it.
His tongue moves,
fast but steady.
Devoted to helping,
he moves to my arm.
Wrapping around
so tightly to stop the blood flow.
his head at my wrist.
He draws back
and strikes at my vain.
He loosens his grip
and lets the blood flow.
His work here is done,
back to the tank he must go.
My pain is numbed,
as the tears start to come.
Parents look at my wrist,
stained from the blood.
"Honey, you resorted to cutting again"
