Rubix Cube

The complex puzzle on my desk
Is sort of like a confusing test
The multi-colored little squares
Don't seem to fit anywhere
In a way it reminds me
Of my life in it's glory
The simple way those words of fear
Caused my eyes to softly tear

You like to pretend you don't care
Preferring to be unaware
Laughing can be lots of fun
But sometimes the laughing's done
Can't you see that it's no good?
You're not acting like you should
Sometimes it's okay to cry
You don't always have to lie

Now I have the insight
Things aren't always black and white
Thanks for showing me the light
And taking all my will to fight
I should have known we couldn't be
You were never there for me
Thanks for giving me the key
Now I've solved the mystery

I may never solve this thing
This little square thinks it's a king
Even when I feel like crying
It forces me to keep on trying
Our friendship's a lot like that
You don't cut me a lot of slack
Yet I keep on coming back
What the heck is up with that?

Even though you may not care
I still don't think that it is fair
That we should all have to sit
And listen to you flap your lips
Maybe you'll never be solved
Perhaps I shouldn't get involved
But I guess that's what I get
Sometimes I wish we'd never met

Now I have the insight
Things aren't always black and white
Thanks for showing me the light
And taking all my will to fight
I should have known we couldn't be
You were never there for me
Thanks for giving me the key
Now I've solved the mystery
