Today was sad.
Today took everything I had
Just to get through.
It's hard to say bye to you.
I wasn't sure if I could.
In the "bye" there was nothing good.
I tried to stay strong.
But that didn't last long.
When I thought about "good-bye"
I tried to make sure you couldn't tell.
But the harded I tried not to cry
The faster my tears fell.
I tried my very best
While the world sat on my chest.
Soon your eyes were wet.
Neither of us were ready yet.
As out time came to an end
We sang " My Best Friend."
I wanted to cling to my lover.
I didn't want the ride to be over.
