Staring out the window
only one thing in sight
it's the tree of life
or so they say
full of inspiration
and maybe a little encouragement
this tree holds everything
one could need in any situation
advice for all hardships
laughter for sad moments
all possibilities displayed against the sky
though they say all difficulties
can be solved with one glance
it's only a saying; never a proven fact
in which I have yet to believe
I have not experienced the wonders
bottled inside this tree
wishing for the opportunity
to sit in its strong arms
hoping for some wisdom
to rub off on me
I've been put to the test
fallen, but forced to stand strong again
and never once has that tree helped
it hasn't even come close
not the slightest bit
so for the rest of the world
I must warn
do not rely on that tree of life
standing tough on it's enormous trunk
for it's only that
a simple tree
