Guardian Angel

You were sent to me,

Like a guardian angel,

When I needed one most.

You cared about me,

You made me laugh,

And you helped show me the way.

You let me cry upon your shoulder,

And wiped my river of tears,

Only to find it led to an ocean.

You were always there for me,

Always kept your word,

And never stood me up.

I told you things no one knew,

Knowing they would never get out,

And you held my undivided trust.

Though you’re no longer with me,

I still talk to you in my prayers.

But, I can never come close to repaying,

The debt I have dug over the years.
