Ocean

by LadyPearl   Jun 7, 2006

Sapphire reflections upon the sea
Soft and gentle weaving waves
Thrashing water battle rocky cliffs
Years of dispute cause emerging caves

Seagulls soar above in fluffy clouds
Preying for some fish to appear
Diving, twirling in the thin air
Until the water looms ever so near

Inside the ocean thrives it's life
Full of abundant swimming fish
Each a mind of it's very own
Each like us, a silent wish

Everyday they fight to survive
Dodging away from their prey
Everyday they seek their food
Through the coral, they find their way

This is the ocean, proud and blue
The source of all living things
So please, don't litter such a precious gift
Who knows what that will bring

*Against littering and pollution, it's already killed off alot of coral reefs, which is a home to many species.

Though the ocean tends to frighten me at times, when writing I imagine the ocean being a source of peace and you descriptions brought that to life. Though you had a message at the end of the poem, which usually I don't recommend people donw right telling it, you seemed to pull it off.
