A Butterfly Can Scream

by Leah   Jun 7, 2006

She sits upon her sorrow
and she closes the dust of pain
while her emotions try to kill her
she fights all of this again.

And where was that small promise
that she use to hold so dear
all of her emotions lay
poured into a tear.

Lets count another minute
before demons wander near
and she looks so happy outside
yet her pain is stinging so severe.

Nothing in this present world
could convey just whats inside
don't even stand the smallest doubt, she knows because she's tried.

But heres her true fake smile
and another phony laugh
but try not to feel her sorrow
don't feel pain on her behalf.

But a butterfly can scream
and she can pierce the air
she'll scream for many a centrury
hoping someone will hear her despair.

And a butterfly can wail
her wails will wake the night
even if you can't see her
her tears will be in sight.

And a butterfly can cry
her tears will melt like wax
a prisoner in this lone body
suffering, can't relax.

And a butterfly can die
from the coldness of her tear
but death takes a rather uplifting course, it's nothing she would fear.

But maybe a little butterfly
isn't a butterfly, but a storm
or maybe it's a lonely girl
just finding peace in a different form.
