Together

by Brianna   Jun 7, 2006

It seems like just yesterday we were at our orientation,
And we all saw each other once again after a long summer.
Anticipation was in our voices,
Worry in our eyes.
We couldn't wait for 8th grade to come.

New beginnings came with the new year,
And whether they were good or bad,
We were forced to step out of our comfort zones.
As we were introduced to many different things,
Our worlds began to shift around us.

Something interesting was always happening at school,
Either good or bad, happy or sad,
We dealt with anything that came our way.
They will be remembered with either laughs or tears,
Depending on the situation.

This year was filled with endless laughs and smiles,
And also tears and frowns.
Our faces lightened up to the daily unexpected happenings,
While other times,
It was hard to find a way to smile and laugh.

Though hard times came our way,
We all found our ways to cope
And to get through them.
We looked to God to find our answers,
And he gladly showed us the way.

To us, eighth grade wasn't just another normal year,
It was a road that lead us further toward maturity.
The experiences will leave memories with us,
And they will stay in our minds,
Forever.

So as you can surely see,
We all made it through this year,
And we're standing on this open stage,
Ready to graduate and move on to high school,
Together.
