The tale I will tell is not one of romance.
Nor of enduring love
Or unsurpassible obstacles
Rather, it is about a boy and a girl and what they were given: a chance
The boy was from a small town
Father who didn't care, mother who cared too much
his head wasn't on right, too many man-made problems
But he swore one day, he would have a family of his own.
The girl was from a big city
Dysfunctional family with only a sister that adored her
She began what most kids try occasionally
Addicted to herb and Bacardi
he dropped out of school and got a job
Providing for the mother who cared too much
Her grades slipped and she became a slob
Depending on the members of a close-knit kin.
Her father was through
sad though he may have been
Shipping her off to a new world
Her life, he began anew
A high school football game united them
Neither one should have been there
He was banned from the grounds and she was grounded to her room
But fate twisted their gnarled lives, just like a Gardner does a rose stem
Half a decade separated them, but only genealogically
He introduced her to the world of illusion and deception
And she was taken, completely and totally
Her family watched as the addiction took hold
Not just for the drug, but also the Boy
They warned, begged, and pleaded with her
To him she would not admit it, but she was torn
Then, the most amazing task yet!
she was carrying his child
Still she stuck through the madness
Through too hot, to too cold; from too dry, to too wet.
November
So much to be grateful for
Not only a good dinner but also a beautiful baby girl
So joyful just to remember
The drugs kept on
Lies and deceit
Sadness and sorrow
Almost all of her things were set to pawn
Then a chance broke free!
A job for him, food for her, and a place for them
Away they did go to the most promising of places
Diane's "Inshallah Ranch" on I-Zee
Together they are
About to be legally united
No more lies or drugs
Joy from the young one and they are back on the social radar.
