And then she falls

by Julie   Jun 8, 2006

Her nerves, so shot. They make her shake.
Her hands, they sweat. She is losing grip.
Her smile has faded. It started as a joke,
but has turned into a nightmare.
Her fingers slip. One by one.
Only a hand keeps her from death.
No one hears her cries. She is going to die.
Falling. She slips. And then she falls.
Louder and louder her screams become.
Almost to the ground.
Death has missed. She’s escaped.
In critical condition she holds on.
Later, she cannot sleep.
She awakens and then she falls.
