One Last Thought of Hope

Open your eyes
To what is going on around you
The world is no longer innocent
Can you not see all the lies they have told you
“Be kind to others
and they will be kind to you”
I’m sorry to say
But that is the biggest lie of all
Some people are just too twisted and mean
The true sad part is they will never change
It’s not something to grow out of
But that doesn’t mean everyone is like that
It can’t all be bad
There has to be some good in this world too
Right? There hast to be
So maybe the world can never be innocent again
But that doesn’t mean it can’t change
Perhaps if I hang in a little longer
I will see what you see
I pray that be true
Because if it’s not
I will give in to the darkness
That threatens to devourer this once beautiful world
And my one last thought of hope
