Fading love

by Ashley Berry   Jun 9, 2006

I watch the blood slowly
Drip off my wrist.
For every drop of blood that
Falls, I grow farther away from you.

I watch the tears of eyeliner
Slide slowly down my cheek.
For every tear of eyeliner that
Falls, my love for you fades to black.

I stare at my reflection in the
Mirror, covered in black clothes
To hide my torchered soul
From the world.

I paint your name in blood
All over my walls so I won't
Forget your name even as your
Face fades from my memories.

I feel my heart starting
To crumble to pieces.
For every piece of my heart that
Falls, your voice starts to fade away.
