Naive

"i don't get it....what is it?"
so innocent minded...so sweet...so gullible.
walks around with a smile and a child's twinkle in her eye.
believes in all she hears, so blind to all she sees.
years and years go by...
slowly she opens up her eyes and now she sees the reality that she once escaped is now right by her side.
she notices the bruises that have scarred her......so lost in confusion, she feels betrayed.
everything slowly her insane
"i can't take this...its crap" she cries..
a lonely night...a lonely soul..
"sleep, sleep" she whispers in a voice her head, "sleep, sleep, sleep" she echoes
she runs into the kitchen and looks at all a metal...she takes a glass of water and runs to her room.
"goodnight" she says to herself
as dawn comes, she still lays asleep..
as the days pass by...her heart has lost the will to ever get up

This poem is just too sad. The perfect picture, it seems to me, of depression and hopelessness. I can relate with a lot of it, although I've never actually been depressed. I hate to hear that anybody would have to go through this; I hope this poem is not based on a true story!! Great poem, though. God Bless and Take Care,
