The Storm

by Flying Phoenix   Jun 11, 2006

Gentle wavelets of pure simplicity
Lap so sweetly at the shore
Calmness drifts upon this beach
The silence after the storm

The torrents of rain came thundering down
Those angry droplets of spite
Flashes of lightening and thunder boomed
The war amongst us; that dreadful night

Tender glances and softening blows
The wind diminishes still
Hatred gone, and left from the place
But a gap is left to be filled

Sighing softly the morning breeze
And the broken mast repaired
Yet still that crack, that flaw is left
From that fight
That storm that night

Love did heal and cover the wound
And time will help too
Even though the scar is left
The ship will sail on through

Because with those friends
Those helpful kind
With their sweet words
And comforting side
They'll help me here
As I sail on
Away from the beach
That storm hit upon
