No more pain

by Irish Sweetheart   Jun 11, 2006

Wise ,old , sick,
she passed on,
to the other side to see the Lord,
a wonderful woman,
but life was bad,
for years she was sick,
lying there day after day,
wishing that all her pain would just go away,
then it did,
everyone was sad but happy,
sad of her no longer living,
but happy that her pain,
had finally gone away,
That sweet woman spent her days,
in a dim life,
in a dim world,
stuck in that house,
her family is all she had,
they prayed for her to get better,
day after day,
nothing worked,
until one day,
the Lord took,
my dear grandma's life away,
but it's OK,
she's better off that way.

I thought that the words 'way' and 'away' were used too many times in the poem.

Besides that, I thought this was a pretty touching poem about the bittersweet nature of seeing a long life end.

Rhythmically, the poem varied quite a bit, but it had its own thing going on in a sort of large way. It wasn't a really set rhythm, but more of a flowing one.
